Welcome to Library Labs by South Dublin Libraries

South Dublin Libraries

South Dublin Libraries is thrilled to announce the launch of Library Labs, a year-long STEAM events programme aimed at promoting digital learning and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) resources across the county.

Library Labs represents a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and lifelong learning within our community. This programme is designed to engage individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including schools, the general public, and neurodiverse groups.

The objective of Library Labs is to showcase the richness of STEAM subjects through a diverse range of activities and events. Using already established festivals such as Engineer’s Week, Biodiversity Week, Eco Week, Tech Week, Dublin Climate Action Week, Space Week, Maths Week, and Season of Science, Library Labs will offer an array of experiences that highlight the intersections between science, technology, art, and society.

Through interactive workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and expert talks, participants will have the opportunity to explore various STEAM disciplines. Library Labs aims to inspire the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.

“We are thrilled to introduce Library Labs, a new programme that promotes STEAM and digital learning,” said Paul Fusco, County Librarian of South Dublin Libraries. “By using our existing festivals and community partnerships, we are excited to offer an inclusive and engaging programme that encourages individuals of all ages and backgrounds to explore, create, and innovate.”
