WalknTalk Tallaght Boosting Community Spirit

Emma, a mum of twin boys recently started weekly walks to create community spirit in Tallaght for people who like to walk, talk and meet new people. The walks are open to male and females of any age where a one hour walk is organised two to four times per week. The walks take place in various locations like Old Bawn, Kilnamanagh, Tymon Park and throughout Tallaght.

Each Sunday the list of routes for the upcoming week with days and times are posted on the instagram page @walkntalktallaght. As we navigate through covid19 restrictions, challenges present themselves to those isolated who are missing social interaction so the WalkNTalk Tallaght concept is a perfect way to socialise safely in close proximity to your home. Walking is not only a great form of exercise but there are so many benefits of walking including connecting with nature, a great way to unwind, getting in some vitamin D and takes you away from those screens!

The concept is bringing the community together. ‘Life is like walking – you take one step at a time’ is the group’s motto!
