‘Walking Cricket’ programme is coming to Tallaght

Walking Cricket

Cricket Leinster are running a ‘Walking Cricket’ programme in conjunction with Kildare Sports Partnership and South Dublin County Council to help promote physical activity for positive aging.

This is suitable for complete beginners to cricket. They will help introduce you to all the skills you need to participate. Cricket Leinster hope to get a team from each venue to play against each other in a home and away match. It all takes place indoors and is suitable for ages 40-100! They can adapt the skills and games for all abilities, including people with low mobility, Parkinsons, Arthritis or Osteoporosis. People have found walking cricket to be good for coordination, agility, cardio exercise and to help combat mental health.

Over the next 6 weeks they are running 4 training sessions and 2 match days in two locations: Leixlip Amenities (Wednesdays 11am-12pm) and Tallaght Leisure Centre (Fridays 11am-12pm).

You don’t need any cricket equipment or experience to take part. Just turn up and bring a friend if you can!
