Voice of local independents stronger after elections

Alan Edge Katherine Zappone Tallaght

The election of Councillor Alan Edge in the Firhouse Bohernabreena local electoral area will ensure an even stronger independent voice for our communities, according to Dublin South West Independent Minister, Katherine Zappone.

Welcoming the election of Cllr Edge, Minister Zappone added: “Alan has worked with my local team on a voluntary basis for the past three-years. He is passionate about the issues which impact on our  communities and will work to ensure fairness and equality across all areas of policy in the County Council. With a legal background and as a barrister he will be a strong addition to the Council Chamber. His election, together with a 22% share of the national vote for other  independent candidates, has shown that politics has changed. People want alternatives and politicians who are not tied or bound by party politics. I look forward to continuing my work with Alan so together we can deliver for the people of Dublin South West at both a national and local level.”
