Four years after its launch, the ŠKODA KAROQ gets an update: the Czech carmaker has refreshed its second SUV model range to ensure its continued success. In addition to an even more refined design language, the update brings sustainable materials, new technology and more efficient engines from the current EVO generation to the compact SUV. Surpassed only by the OCTAVIA and KODIAQ, the KAROQ was the third most delivered ŠKODA model in Ireland in 2021, selling 1,386 units up nearly 25% on last year. The updated KAROQ is due to launch in Ireland in April 2022.

Thomas Schäfer, ŠKODA AUTO CEO, said: “With over half a million units sold, the KAROQ is key to our brand’s success. To ensure that this will remain the case, we have developed it further: now sporting a fresher design and optimised aerodynamics along with state-of-the-art assistance systems and infotainment features. I am confident that this overall package will enable us to continue the KAROQ’s success story.”

A fresh design, improved aerodynamics and sustainable materials in the interior

ŠKODA AUTO has continued to develop its design language for the revised KAROQ, making the SUV look even more striking. The wider, now hexagonal ŠKODA grille, slimmer headlights as well as tail lights, and aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels with black plastic Aero trim create fresh visual highlights. The new wheels, rear window finlets and a new rear spoiler all improve the car’s aerodynamics while lowering its CO2 emissions.

The interior features new upholstery which, as an option, can be made from sustainable materials. New technology – such as full-LED Matrix headlights and an expanded range of assistance systems – also debuts in the range.

The new ŠKODA KAROQ is available in three trim levels – Ambition, Style and a SPORTLINE variant. Four efficient engines from Volkswagen Group’s EVO generation will be offered in Ireland. Two diesel and petrol engines delivering power outputs ranging from 81 kW (110 PS) to 110 kW (150 PS). An all-wheel drive option will not be offered. Prices for the new ŠKODA KAROQ will be released in early 2022.

The new KAROQ is 4,390 mm long and 1,841 mm wide. The front-wheel-drive features a wheelbase of 2,638 mm. The boot capacity is the same as in the previous model: 521 l with the seats in their default position and 1,630 l when folded down.

Launched in 2017, the KAROQ was the Czech car manufacturer’s second SUV. Offering generous amounts of space, a high level of practicality and excellent value for money, it delivers on the brand’s promise. The KAROQ is produced in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia and China, and available in 60 countries.
