SDCC Mayor Ukranian Flag Tallaght

South Dublin County Council has announced that it will show its support for the people of Ukraine by raising its national flag over County Hall, Tallaght.

County Hall and the Civic Offices in Clondalkin will also be lit up to display the Ukrainian flag.

The Mayor of South Dublin County, Cllr Peter Kavanagh, has also written to the Ukrainian Ambassador to Ireland to express the Council’s support and solidarity at this time.

Speaking as he raised the flag above County Hall, the Mayor of South Dublin County, Cllr Peter Kavanagh, said, “We have all been shocked and saddened by the scenes coming out of Ukraine since the illegal attack by the Russian Federation began a fortnight ago. I am proud to say that many of the people of South Dublin County have already arranged collections of money and goods for the Ukrainian people.

On behalf of myself, my fellow elected members of the Council and the people of our County, I want to say that we stand together in support of Ukraine and her people.”
