Rathcoole Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner

Every year, the run up to Christmas epitomizes all that is good in our local community.  There are so many events for all to enjoy, including Christmas Tree lightings, Christmas Fairs, Carol Singing and Senior Citizens Christmas Dinners, it is amazing the effort and dedication so many give to making this time special for so many. “I was honoured to help serve the dinner at the Rathcoole Community Centre’s Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner, and have a chance to chat to all those there before they hit the dancefloor,.

This annual event is something for every senior to look forward to, the hall was buzzing with music, dance and plenty of good humoured banter. Many thanks to the team who make this happen every year” said Cllr. Higgins.

Volunteering and Community work happens all year round and each December the incredible contribution of just some of our voluntary groups is recognised at the South Dublin County Council Community Endeavour Awards. “Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and those that won, we are very grateful for the work you do to bring to life the value and meaning of community spirit,” said Cllr. Emer Higgins.
