Pure Telecom, one of Ireland’s leading broadband and telecom providers, has announced that its customers and employees have raised €70,000 in donations for the Children’s Health Foundation, supporting Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) hospitals and urgent care centres in Temple Street, Crumlin and Connolly.

In November 2018, Pure added an opt-in donation feature to monthly bills, giving customers the chance to donate just 5c per month to a good cause. The vast majority of Pure’s customers have signed up to take part in the initiative, donating 60c each per year to the cause. The fundraising is part of Pure Telecom’s ambition to raise €250,000 for the Children’s Health Foundation by the end of 2023.

Children’s Health Foundation is committed to supporting the little patients and families who attend Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) hospitals and has played a key role in enabling cutting-edge research into childhood illness and treatment. It also provides funding for world-class facilities, equipment and new and improved services for Ireland’s sickest children.

Paul Connell, CEO and Co-founder of Pure Telecom, said“We greatly admire Children’s Health Foundation and the vital work that they do to ensure that every sick child has the very best chance of a speedy recovery. It also provides support for their families during what is sure to be a very difficult time.

“Our team and customers really value the opportunity to give back to the community and we really feel that there are few partnerships that would be more worthwhile. It’s a privilege to make even a small difference in these children’s lives, and we’re delighted that the uptake among our expanding customer base has been so high.”

Denis Maher, from Children’s Health Foundation, said: “This fundraising effort driven by Pure Telecom will improve the quality of life of our patients and their families. As we rely solely on donations, fundraising initiatives such as these represent the life blood to our mission to provide patients from all over Ireland with world class treatment, ensuring that every sick child has the very best chance. A sincere thank you to Pure Telecom, its employees and amazing customers for their generous and continued support.”

Earlier this year Pure Telecom was crowned Ireland’s Best Broadband at the 2021 bonkers.ie National Consumer Awards.
