Progress of Tree Maintenance programme long overdue

Tree Pruning Causing Concern ClondalkinRathfarnham

TD for Dublin Mid-West , Eoin Ó Broin has welcomed the news that the tree maintenance programme by South Dublin County Council is now moving into Bawnogue, and other areas across the constituency later this year.

Deputy O’Broin said: “My understanding is that the plan is that Kilcronan estate is being done now and then the council are heading into Kilmahuddrick and Lindisfarne later on in the year. This is long overdue and will come as a relief to a lot of residents who have raised these issues with myself and the rest of the Sinn Féin team here over the last number of months. “There has unfortunately been delays in getting some of this work done and the council must take a more proactive approach going forward. “We need to see maintenance issues addressed as they arise instead of allowing them to accumulate to the extent in which they do. The tree maintenance programme is excellent, but the time in which people have been waiting for progress to be made in their areas is not acceptable.”
