An additional Cost of Living payment of €200 will be made to pensioners, carers, people with disabilities and working families in Dublin this week, a local TD has said. Deputy Emer Higgins, TD for Dublin Mid West said that recipients will receive €200 in addition to their normal weekly payment. “Payments totalling €260 million will be paid this week around the country as part of the Government’s €1.2 billion cost of living package from February, which prioritises support for our most vulnerable,” Deputy Higgins explained.

The schedule of payments is:

  • 158,000 people with disabilities will receive the €200 payment on Wednesday
  • 53,500 Carers and almost 50,000 households in receipt of Working Family Payment to receive their lump sum payment on Thursday
  • Almost 611,000 pensioners to receive their €200 payment on Friday

“I am particularly pleased that households in receipt of the Working Family Payment are to receive a payment this week. “In tandem with this, an extra payment of €100 per child for people receiving Child Benefit will be made in June. Parents and guardians who receive the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance will also receive an additional €100 for each child during the Summer. “This timely reminder of payments being made this week will, I hope, give some comfort to our most vulnerable groups in Dublin and demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting our citizens and families who are dealing with the ongoing Cost of Living pressures,” Deputy Higgins concluded.
