O’Dwyer slams Council response to bin management in South Dublin Parks

Rubbish Overflowing Parks

The Labour Party’s Local Area Representative for the Clondalkin-Rathcoole electoral area has slammed SDCC following a recent report into bin management in South Dublin Parks.

O’Dwyer, who has been working on the issue of illegal dumping and waste management alongside Labour Senator Mark Wall and residents in the Saggart Area said: “The Council’s lack of meaningful action around the issue of bin management in our public parks is astounding and shows a lack of creative thinking on the part of planners. At this stage Local authorities should be aware of the increased use of public parks. “We are a year into Covid, we are a year into working from home and spending more time locally and South Dublin County Council are still very much in the contemplative process. Is it the case that they are simply waiting for things to go back to normal? “What we need to see from SDCC is meaningful action and start improving the provision of services in our parks not just Monday to Friday but 7 days a week.
