A local TD has called for women to “fill their place in the world” and remember to take time for themselves in celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day. Two Lucan businesswomen were among the contributors at a virtual International Women’s Day event and coffee-morning held by Dublin Mid-West TD, Emer Higgins to mark the day.
“I’m hugely thankful to all the women who took some time out of their busy schedules to join me for a virtual coffee morning on International Women’s Day,” said Deputy Higgins. “I was particularly delighted to be joined by Lucan physio Karen Roberts who shared some brilliant exercise tips and Mary Browne from the Holistic Lodge in Lucan who explained the importance of taking time out for your wellbeing. It’s great to champion local women.” “Stylist and TV presenter Laura Jordon from Style Savvy also joined us and shared her guide to dressing for positivity and smart online shopping which everyone really enjoyed,” added Deputy Higgins.
“We all know how tough this last year has been on women, with many taking on extra work and working on our front line so I really wanted to take some time to honour all those women and celebrate them with some practical contributions on minding your health and wellbeing. “Women are often so good at multi-tasking and juggling that many forget to mind themselves. We all need to learn to prioritise our wellbeing the way we would a work deadline and I hope the event gave all the participants some tips on how to do just that,” concluded Deputy Higgins.
