Mayor of South Dublin County Council opens the Teenspace at Kingswood

KIngswood Teen Space

On the 6th of October, the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Councillor Alan Edge officially opened Teenspace at Kingswood.

Speaking at the event Mayor Cllr Alan Edge saidThis new facility is a welcome part of SDCC’s innovative Teenspace Programme which is being delivered across the county. The Council engaged with teenagers who told us that their needs are and how those needs can be best met in South Dublin. We know that our physical and emotional wellbeing is improved by spending time in the outdoors and with the Teenspace programme we are providing areas for teenagers to relax and simply hang out and make friends. At every location we talk to teenagers from that area and ask what type of space they would like and what activities they like to see included. This has resulted in the teenspace you see before you today, located in a safe, high-profile location with plenty of seating and with access to large informal activity areas nearby”.  The Mayor paid tribute to the local community for their support and the work of Council staff in managing the project and maintaining the Teenspace.Pic Credit: Ben Ryan
