Tallaght Swim Team will host their annual Marion Lane Short Course Gala on the 3rd & 4th of March 2018 at Tallaght Sports Complex. The weekend will see individuals and teams participate from all over Leinster while celebrating the life and legacy of Marion Lane. The gala will also support Tallaght Swim Team, to donate logon to www.marionlanegala.com. Entries are now open for different age groups, individuals and teams and closes on the 25th of February.
Marion was first and foremost an inspiration to everyone who met her, she was our coach, our colleague and our friend. She continues to inspire us, and our swimmers. Marion taught thousands of children and adults to swim over 38 years at Tallaght Sports Complex. An intuitive coach, who brought the best out of a swimmer, and instantly knew when to promote a swimmer to a more senior squad, and when to hold back a young talented swimmer to let them develop their fitness or fix a stroke before moving up.
Marion is the secret reason why Tallaght Swim Team is known for Fly, she taught the coaches, swimmers, and masters the music behind butterfly. Marion was an Open Water swimmer, member/coach of Tallaght Masters, and known across the entire world of Swimming. Marion passed away in March 2017, we miss her, but will always remember her joie de vivre, and the invaluable contribution she made to our lives, and swimming in Ireland.

‘We are really looking forward to celebrating Marion’s life and legacy, it promises to be a great community event for all participating.’ commented Elaine O’Haire Sponsorship Co-ordinator.
