Love Your Coast Photography Competition

Love Your Coast Photography Competition

World Photography Day was recently celebrated and Clean Coasts are calling amateur photographers to take this chance to submit their best shots captured over the summer in Ireland to their Love Your Coast photography competition. World Photography Day is an annual, worldwide celebration of the art of photography, through which we can capture places, experiences, moments and more. We all know the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” and with the Love Your Coast competition, they want people to tell their stories about the Irish coast and waterways. Working with communities on the ground, Clean Coasts’ mission is to also help foster pride in our coastline. Ireland has some of the most spectacular coastlines in the world, and this competition is an opportunity to view the coast and our waterways that the Clean Coasts programme works to protect from a completely different perspective and see the beauty captured therein.

Photographers have until 9 am on Monday the 29th August 2022 to submit their best images to be in with the chance to win a prize fund of €5,000 across five categories: Wildlife and Underwater; Coastal Landscape; People and the Coast; Coastal Heritage and Creativity and the Coast. The competition is also an opportunity for shortlisted photographer to showcase their work in a unique venue in Dublin, which will be announced soon, as well as press exposure and exposure to a huge online network (social media, website, blog, etc…) of people interested not only in photography but also environmental matters, wildlife, heritage, water sports and more. This year, Clean Coasts also released a guide about Wildlife Photography in collaboration with prominent Irish wildlife organisations, including Bird Watch Ireland, Irish Whale and Dolphin Group and Seal Rescue Ireland, as part of the Enjoy and Protect campaign.
