Katie O’Connor is crowned Miss Dublin. Recently, Katie who has lived in Tallaght all her life secured the title of Miss Dublin 2022 and also winner of the Leinster people’s choice award. This means Katie will now go on to represent Dublin at the Miss Ireland event on August 20th in Mayo. Katie has been a successful Ballroom and Latin dancer with local dance school Xquisite Dance.
Katie has represented her country in Ballroom and Latin many times and then 7 years ago was diagnosed with scoliosis. Katie had to undergo spinal fusion 4 years ago and through her dedication to dance she was lucky to return to dancing only 10 weeks after her surgery. Katie finally got to represent her country yet again only last November 2021 in the world championship in Armenia. Katie would not have achieved this without the support of her family, dance family and dance coaches Nicole Kelly and John Nolan who always had her back (pardon the pun). Katie is trying to raise much needed funds and awareness for scoliosis.
