Local Tallaght Councilor Charlie O’Connor recently put a motion to the South Dublin County Council (SDCC) Tallaght area committee. The motion read “That this Tallaght Area Committee warmly congratulates Shamrock Rovers Football Club on winning the 2020 Airtricity League; applauds Stephen Bradley and his squad and all involved at the Club and Tallaght Stadium; and also calls on the Chief Executive to arrange to honor the achievement in an appropriate manner when it is possible to do so.”
The SDCC reply included “If the motion is passed, a letter of congratulations will issue on behalf of the Committee to Shamrock Rovers Football Club. The matter of an event or occasion to honor the achievement when possible to do so will be discussed with Corporate Services”.
