Less than 20%(€58.5k) Have Your Say for Saggart

300K Have Your Say Saggart

Cllr. Trevor Gilligan has expressed disappointment with the Saggart Have your say results announced recently, “Less than 20% of the €300K went to Saggart. I welcome some of the measures supported, Christmas tree lights, drinking water pump, etc, however, this is a far cry than what the residents in Saggart deserve. Ultimately, it was unfair from the start for Saggart as it is such a small community compared to other areas in the county, so from the get-go, the residents had a mountain to climb. I would like to thank the Saggart village residents association for their hard work and dedication, they have punched well above their weight on this occasion. I must also thank SDCC, the time and effort they have put into this project including the measures supported.”

“I also think there should have been a separate announcement for the Saggart area, rather than just a single announcement night”

The following projects were supported in the have your say Saggart applications:

•            Foraging and land-based skills workshops in parks    (824 votes) €3k

•            Christmas Lights for Saggart Village    (649 votes) €15k

•            Heritage Trail App for Saggart Village    (579 votes) €15.5k

•            A Public Drinking Water Pump in Saggart Village    (546 votes) €25k
