The late Joe Horan, former South Dublin County Manager, is remembered for his work with children and young people with a special memorial bench at the Oberstown Campus, where he was the first Chair of the Board. At the unveiling were members of the Horan family, children’s rights campaigners and Dublin South West Minister Katherine Zappone. At the event Minister Zappone paid tribute “Supporting, protecting and caring for children was central to Joe’s 45-years in public service. He delivered play areas, leisure centres and most importantly he prioritised the most vulnerable and those in the greatest of need. This is a fitting tribute to a man who devoted himself to his country, his community and his family.”
