Did you know, the materials from a mattress including steel springs, foam, cloth, and wood can be removed, recycled safely, and reused for other purposes. Do you want to ensure your old mattress does not end up in a landfill and instead materials will be reused? If so, you can avail of free mattress recycling over the coming weeks. Recycle IT a not-for-profit social enterprise based in Clondalkin is proud to offer a mattress recycling amnesty to residents in South Dublin.

Mattress Recycling Drop Off Days will take place on multiple dates running until mid- September 2023. Householders will be able to drop off old mattresses at no cost. Just drop off to Recycle IT, Unit 14/2 Crag Terrace, Clondalkin Industrial Estate, Clondalkin Dublin D22 TK37. The team will be on hand to accept and help with lifting, and moving, clean, dry, unwanted mattresses. Household mattresses of any size will be accepted.

This recycling initiative is operated by Recycle IT with support from South Dublin County Council. Mattress drop-off will operate Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 3pm until mid-September. The facility will also open on Saturday the 9th of September between 9.30am and 12pm at Recycle IT Facility at Crag Terrace, Clondalkin Industrial Estate, Dublin 22, D22 TK37.

Several additional recycling opportunities will also be available including this year Recycle IT can offer cost effective mattress collections from individual households. So if you don’t have a car or your mattress is too large to fit in your car let us know your location and they can offer a collection cost.

When dropping off your mattress why not bring along all your old household electrical items for safe recycling. Recycle IT will accept all types of household and small office electrical equipment as part of the same drop off and at no cost to you. Recycle IT will also accept pure metal household items like old bikes, metal lawnmowers, pots, pans, metal radiators, metal from trampolines, once in parts and lots more.
