ESB Science Blast 2020 Lucan Clondalkin Newsgroup

Recently the second annual ESB Science Blast took place, an inspirational event that aims to ensure a generation of children can realise their full potential; to think critically, to work collaboratively, to value creativity and to have confidence to communicate their ideas with a strong voice.

“It is wonderful to see such a huge response from schools and teachers from Lucan, Clondalkin and Rathcoole” said newly elected T.D. Emer Higgins who visited the event on a day dedicated to Gaelscoileanna. Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada, Gaeilscoil Na Camoige, Gaeilscoil Chluain Dolcáin and Scoil Chrónáin had projects on display. “I was blown away by the enthusiasm and positive energy of the children in Simonscourt. The enormous effort and detail that went into each project was apparent and the fact that each one was delivered as Gaeilge, even more impressive! I’d like to congratulate all the schools who took part and thank the teachers for helping this young generation explore the endless possibilities and opportunities that delivering STEM education at primary level offers.”

At the Dublin 2020 Showcase over 12,0000 primary school children presented their questions, theories, research and conclusions over four days. Science Blast invites children to investigate the science behind a simple question that interests and excites them, the goal is to ignite children’s innate curiosity about the world around them.
