Eaton Calls for Feeder Bus Link to Clondalkin/ Fonthill Railway Station

Dublin Bus

David Eaton, the recently selected Labour Party local election for the new Palmerstown/ Fonthill ward, has called for a feeder bus link to the Clondalkin/ Fonthill railway station. David Eaton was commenting on the new Bus Connect proposals for the greater Dublin area. He explained that a link with that station was increasingly important as commuter services from there now bring passengers directly into the City Centre via the Phoenix Park Tunnel. For some people this is by far the fastest way to access the City Centre. A feeder bus to the station could be of great value for many people in South Lucan and Clondalkin, including North Clondalkin, in terms of quick access to the City.

David Eaton said that there were many good aspects to the Bus Connect proposals, especially much more frequent buses on major routes. However, the proposals required improvements. He encouraged people to attend the display of the proposals in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre on Friday 17th. August next between 2 pm and 8 pm. He said people could also access the Bus Connect Website, www.busconnects.ie,  and make submissions up to 14th. September next.
