Funding of over €35,000 for new sports equipment will be a welcome boost to local clubs, Dublin Mid-West TD has said. Speaking about the Funding, Deputy Emer Higgins said: “I am delighted to announce that Dublin Mid-West has been allocated over €35,000 in funding under the sports equipment grant. “This funding will be a really welcome boost to the four brilliant local clubs who will receive the funding,” said Deputy Higgins.

“The four successful clubs are Lucan BMX Club, Lucan Cricket Club, Adamstown Cricket Club and Clondalkin Equine Club, who have each been granted funding under the equipment grant scheme.

“Our clubs and sports teams are a huge part of our community and this year the sports equipment programme received a record number of applications with only the top scoring applicants from each country receiving funding so I am delighted that we have four of the successful clubs here in the constituency. “Covid has been a tough time for local clubs so I hope this funding will give them a welcome boost and allow them to upgrade their equipment to continue offering such brilliant outlets for physical and social activity in the community,” concluded Deputy Higgins. Applications for the Sports Capital Grant are still being processed and will be announced soon.
