Dublin Bus Sharing Christmas Cheer With Tallaght Community Groups!

Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus shared some early Christmas cheer recently with local voluntary and community groups, announcing the winners of this year’s Community Spirit Awards. Across Dublin, groups work selflessly and tirelessly to raise community spirit and improve the lives of those in their locality. The awards will allow them to develop new projects and create a valuable difference to those most in need. 87 groups will receive a Community Spirit Award; there are five €5,000 winners, 13 €2,000 and 69 €1,000 winners. The full list of winning groups is available at www.dublinbus.ie.

From greening the community to developing play spaces for young children, these are three deserving winners of the Community Spirit Awards located in Tallaght: Bohernabreena Community Enterprise Ltd, is a preschool and afterschool service that aims to provide a positive and loving environment for children. With their €1,000 Community Spirit Award, the group will purchase a range of indoor and outdoor play equipment, toys and games to create new activities for the children in their care. St. Martins Residents Association is in receipt of a €1,000 Community Spirit Award. They are a group of local residents who want to improve the look and feel of their community. With their grant, they will fund the development of a litter management and ‘Greening Our Community’ project. And Buion Marc Girl Guides CGI is a local girl guides group that will use their €1,000 Community Spirit Award to purchase much needed camping equipment.
