Dressing Our Hidden Truths

Dressing Our Hidden Truths Dublin

Minister Katherine Zappone with artist Alison Lowry reviewing ‘(A) Dressing Our Hidden Truths’ an exhibition highlighting the reality of Mother and Baby Homes, Magdalene Homes, Industrial Schools and current gender based violence and injustice at the National Museum, Collins Barracks. Launching the year-long exhibition Minister Zappone said “Teachers across Dublin, in particular those with transition year students, should use this opportunity to teach their students about a dark chapter of our recent past. It is only through education and an acceptance of the truth that we can ensure that women and children who have committed no wrong are never again incarcerated in our country again. Alison’s work represents an opportunity for people of all ages to reflect and learn.”
