At the recent September Tallaght area committee meeting, local Tallaght Councillor Charlie O’Connor submitted the following question “To ask the Chief Executive to detail progress being made towards the provision of a Community Centre at Citywest. To confirm contacts he has made in the matter and make a statement?”
The reply entailed some positive information, it was confirmed subject to formal agreement and planning construction would commence in 2021, “The Community Department is in negotiations with a developer for the provision of a community centre in Fortunestown as part of SHD planning application to be lodged with An Bord Pleanala. Subject to formal agreement and planning, construction is expected commence in 2021.”
