Clondalkin based Social Enterprise to host international conference

Oakfield Trust Clondalkin

Interested organisations and individuals are being encouraged to register for an international conference on Social Enterprise, which will take place on May 24th. The half-day conference is being hosted by Clondalkin based Oakfield Trust and entitled Social Enterprise in Ireland: Achieving Real Social Impact and Developing the Space.

The conference will take place from 9.45am to 1.30pm at the Wood Quay Venue in central Dublin. It will include a combination of international and homegrown speakers, panel discussions with CEOs and leaders from the enterprise and social sectors, and video contributions from the social enterprise community.

The event will be moderated by the Managing Director of the international Hayes Culleton Group, Susan Hayes Culleton, known as ‘The Positive Economist’. Chairperson Aileen O’Donoghue said the organisation was looking forward to “an open and thought-provoking event with many opportunities for audience participation.” Oakfield Trust is a Dublin based social enterprise and registered charity and has been successfully supporting community organisations and social enterprises for 26 years.

Oakfield Trust also drew attention to the upcoming deadline for its current ‘open’ social enterprise fund of €25,000 – which will close on May 12. It is the organisation’s first ‘open fund’ which any interested and relevant party can apply for. Applications are being particularly encouraged from the Clondalkin and South Dublin County areas, but projects will be considered from outside the locality or nationwide.

The fund includes three categories including: Scale Up funding, Get Started funding and an Explore Award. More information is online at www.oakfieldtrust.ie. Oakfield Trust plans to announce open funds of €25,000 twice annually for the next five years.
