Clondalkin Addiction Support Programme, CASP officially opened their new onsite Wellness Cabin and launched their Strategic Plan 2024 – 2027, Annual Report 2023, and the independent evaluations of the Family Support Family Support Back to Basics Programme, and Recovery Cafes. The event to celebrate this was held on Wednesday, 24th of April 2024 at the CASP building on the Fonthill Road, Clondalkin.
CASP’s new onsite Wellness Cabin is a serene and tranquil space nestled within the CASP’s premises which will serve as a sanctuary for people who use CASP services on their journey to recovery from their own or a family member’s problem substance use. Treatments including reiki, ear acupuncture, massage, facials and group meditation and relaxation sessions will take place in this wellness cabin.
The wellness cabin is dedicated to John McCann, RIP who was one of the founding members of CASP. John McCann’s dedication to getting CASP established in 1995 to meet the needs of young people in North Clondalkin who were problem substance users and their families is now honoured by naming this wellness cabin, Grizzly’s Cabin in his memory. The team in CASP are very grateful for his tireless efforts that he made to ensure that CASP got established.
At the event, the Clondalkin Recovery Choir sang ‘Rule the World’ and ‘Crazy World’ which really added to the sense of celebration and positive atmosphere on the day.
The Strategic Plan launched on the day outlines CASP’s goals, objectives, and strategies from 2024 – 2027 and describes models of work that CASP work from both in Clondalkin and the project it manages since 2012, CSMT, Community Substance Misuse Team in the mid-west which works with young people and families in Limerick, North Tipp and Clare. Both CASP and CSMT work with people who use their services as they are and without judging them while working to support them by giving them every opportunity and encouragement to improve their lives.
