Key milestone for Holy Family Community School Rathcoole

Ciaran Power Rathcoole

Fianna Fáil candidate in the upcoming local election Ciarán Power, has received confirmation from Minister for Education Norma Foley that a Letter of Intent been issued for the Holy Family Community School in Rathcoole. The large scale capital project at Holy Family Community School, Rathcoole will provide accommodation for a 1,000 pupil school and is at an advanced stage of the tender process

Power, who is a past pupil of the school and named the school as one of the key reasons for running in the local elections, recently facilitated a meeting between Tánaiste and leader of Fianna Fáil Micheál Martin, Principal of Holy Family Community School Ingrid Fallon and Dublin MEP Barry Andrews to discuss the pressing necessity for a rebuild, noting that despite significant population growth, the school infrastructure has remained unchanged since he attended as a pupil.

Welcoming the announcement he said, “I was pleased that Tánaiste Micheál Martin, along with Dublin MEP Barry Andrews, recently took the time to sit down with Ms. Fallon and I to thoroughly grasp the issues surrounding the school. Together, we discussed the critical importance of pushing this project across the finish line without further delay and I was delighted to receive confirmation from Minister Foley that a Letter of Intent was issued.

“I understand that the next major milestone will be the issue of the Letter of Acceptance to the successful contractor.  This will be done following further engagement with the successful contractors in relation to their tenders for the design and construction of the new school.  This engagement will also provide clarity on the contractor’s programme of works for the delivery of the projects and timelines. “Every child deserves a learning environment that matches their potential. The issuance of this letter of intent is a testament to Fianna Fái’s dedication to providing the best possible education for all students.
