Concern About Possible Clouse of Local Drugs Project

Gino Kenny Madeleine Johansson

People Before Profit TD Gino Keny is concerned about the possible closure of local drugs project Neart Le Cheile.

Several weeks ago, staff at Neart Le Cheile were informed that the project which is based at Neilstown Shops would close. Neart Le Cheile formerly Cumas is located at Neilstown Shopping Centre. The project has been in existence for the past twenty years and offers a unique service to those families and individuals affected by drug and alcohol use.

Gino Kenny TD commented ”I have written to the HSE requesting clarification on the future of the project. I have also spoken to the workers who have been employed in the project since its opening. It’s imperative that workers and those that avail of the project are given clarification on the future of the project. The project does vital work in the locality. Hopefully, a resolution can be found and importantly workers given assurances regarding their jobs and the project itself.”
