600 jobs a huge boost for Rathcoole

600 new jobs for Rathcoole is a major boost to the local economy, a Fine Gael bye-election candidate has said. Cllr Emer Higgins was speaking as local employer KN Circet launched their state-of-the-art training academy in Rathcoole. “The company announced their 600 jobs plan over the course of 18 months in areas such as administration, fibres splicing, cabling and smart metering installations.

“The €500k Rathcoole training academy can facilitate up to 2,000 people per year with classrooms and scenario learning facilities. “It is really positive to hear the company talk about how the academy has the potential to support up to 700 additional jobs in the coming years as Ireland prepares for the roll-out of rural broadband – something that is a key priority for Fine Gael. Our enterprise-based economy is now creating over 850 jobs a week and the country is at full employment but crucially the Fine Gael-led Government has shown that there is no room for complacency and have put the Future Jobs strategy into motion. “This will ensure that our economy is future-proofed and agile enough to respond to a changing world,” she added.
