300K Have Your Say Project At Tymon Park

Sensory play Tymon

On the 26th June 2023, the former Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Emma Murphy officially opened the 300K Have Your Say Project that has provided additional Sensory Play Features to the playspace at Tymon Park.

Speaking at the event Former Mayor Cllr. Emma Murphy said We are officially opening one of the 300K Have Your Say Projects here today, which is the addition of new sensory play features to the park; with a new accessible basket swing, wheelchair accessible picnic area, and bee sculptures.

This project complements the new Communications Board at this location perfectly and enhances the accessibility and universal nature of play at Tymon Park. The public participatory budget process allows people in the local area to have a say in project generation and this project with its beautiful bee sculpture is a lovely addition to the playground. Play is recognised as a vital activity for healthy child development.  Children also need time in nature for their physical and mental wellbeing. SDCC’s playspace programme integrates everyday play activity into our open spaces and parks.
